Learn to Build a Sand Castle!

Take a sand castle lesson with a Professional Sand Sculptor!

This is a basic introductory lesson that will teach you how to build a sand castle the way the professionals do.

You will be taught the basics so the next time you hit the beach, you'll "WOW" your friends and attract the "OOOOH'S and AHHH'S" of passerby’s.

This lesson will cover the following:

* Preparing the sand, making your “Pound-up”
* Carving turrets, roof lines, windows and doors, arches, walls and staircases.
* Techniques of texturing your castle with shingles, bricks, fieldstone and much more…

Child Safe Tools will be available for use during this class and must be returned at the end of the session. Tools will be available for purchase if you would like to continue working on your sculpture.

WHERE: Classes will be held at various beaches around Long Island. If you have a group of 15 or more, we can come to a beach near you! Just ask 3 or 4 of your friends and have them bring 3 or 4 of their friends and there's your group!

This class is $20 per person (15 person minumum) and last approximately 2 hours. Wear sunblock!

Sand Sculpture 101

If you want to get a little more serious, you can take a series of 4 classes where you will explore the amazing world of sand sculpture.

This course will introduce you to the tools, tricks and techniques of the pros! We will focus on how to carve sand castles, dolphins, mermaids and more.

You will work in a team environment creating a sand sculpture scene together with your classmates. At the end you will have a fantastic photo op!

These classes will be limited to no more than 10 students per class.

We will supply all the necessary tools for you to use during this course. Tools must be returned at the end of each class.

The fee for this course is $200 for 4 lessons. Each lesson will be 3 hours in length. Wear sunblock!

The Business of Professional Sand Sculpture for Art Students

If the idea of working for yourself, traveling the world, making art with friends on exotic beach locations and getting paid to do it is in an attractive idea… then this course is for you!

Course Description:

This 5 day intensive course was designed for the serious art student who would like a career in the growing field of Professional Sand Sculpture. This course is designed to give the student all the knowledge necessary to start his or her own sand sculpture business.

Students will learn how to evaluate different types of sand, identify their limitations and learn how to work within those parameters. We will discuss the physics of sand and how to properly design a safe sand sculpture. Students will be introduced to hard lined sand sculpture, i.e. castles and buildings, soft sculpture, i.e. figures, animals, and logo replication for corporate clients.

Past and current concepts through the works of other professional sand sculptors will be studied and discussed. We will work to develop aesthetics and concepts in 2-D and transfer these ideas to the sand in 3-D while learning to work as a team and obtain a singular goal. Students are expected to take chances, push the limits of the sand and think outside the sandbox. You will learn to create art in a team environment while learning to problem solve any unexpected situations that arise.

Course Objective:

The specific objectives of this course are to expose the student to the internal workings of the professional sand sculpture industry by a seasoned pro and teach the student how to start-up and run their very own professional sand sculpture company.

Course fee: INTRODUCTORY OFFER ONLY $1000.00 for the full 5 day Course. These classes are full day classes.
Starting the first week of June.

Students should bring their own lunch and sun block.
Students must be at least the age of 16 to take this course.
